- Select “Add” to save the issue.
Good to know
If your admin created an issue template for a specific issue type, it will be pre-filled when adding a new issue.Add a child issue
Child issues, or subtasks, can help manage larger tasks and keep work connected. Child issues:
- Are available with the Starter plan and above
- Can be enabled by an admin or project admin in the project settings
- Can only be linked with parent issues in the same project
- Can’t be linked to a different parent issue later
To add a child issue:
- Go to the main issue page.
- Under “Subtasking,” select “Add child issue.”
- Enter the issue details.
- Select “Add” to save the issue.
Duplicate an issue
To duplicate an issue:
- Select the “...” icon at the top of the issue details page.
- Select “Duplicate” to be redirected to the new issue details page, where you can make any changes.
- Or, select “Duplicate in another project,” select the project, and you will be redirected to the new issue details page where you can make any changes.
Unlink parent and child issues
To unlink a child and parent task:
- Go to the child task.
- Select “Edit.”
- Select the “x” next to the parent issue key.
- Select “Save.”
Close a parent issue
When changing a parent issue status to “Closed,” you’ll have two options:
- Close the parent and its child issues
- Close only the parent issue
