Your space ID is your organization’s Backlog subdomain (e.g., spaceID.backlog.com) and the URL members use to access your organization’s space.
In this overview, we’ll go over how to:
- Choose a space ID
- Retrieve a forgotten space ID
Choose a space ID
You’re required to choose a space ID when signing up for Backlog or registering a new organization. Your space ID is a unique identifier that’s part of your organization’s Backlog subdomain. If your space ID is “product,” for example, members access your space with the URL product.backlog.com.
Your space ID is not your Nulab organization ID, but you can use the same name for both so it’s easier to remember. Unlike your Nulab organization ID, your space ID can’t be changed later without paying a fee.
When choosing your organization ID, it must:
- Be between 3 and 10 characters
- Include only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens
Once your space ID is created, we suggest bookmarking it in your browser.
Retrieve a forgotten space ID
There are a few ways to retrieve your space ID if you forgot it:
If you’re the space owner:
- Look for the welcome email from Backlog, which contains your space ID.
- Contact Nulab support.
If you’re a space member:
- Find the invitation email from Nulab.
- Contact the admin or project admin who invited you to join the space.
