The Backlog AI assistant is designed to enhance productivity while keeping your data secure. All data stays within your organization and is stored safely according to our security guidelines. 

Handling of Input Data

Which AI model does Backlog use?

The Backlog AI assistant uses AWS Bedrock (Anthropic or OpenAI) and automatically selects the best model for each task. We ensure that every model we use meets our standards for performance and security and therefore models may change.

Is my information used to train the AI?

Any information you provide to the Backlog AI assistant is not used to train or improve AI models. The Backlog AI assistant can make suggestions based on what you enter, but your data is never shared.

Where is the information I enter into the Backlog AI assistant stored?

What data can the Backlog AI assistant access? 

The Backlog AI assistant can only reference data from projects that you’re a member of. It doesn’t access any information outside of your designated projects.

Can usage be restricted by project or user?

No, limits can only be applied within the project. 

How do I turn off the Backlog AI assistant?

Only members with admin privileges can change adjust settings. To disable Backlog AI assistant, go to Space settings > Global settings > AI assistant and uncheck the box.

Can I search across multiple projects?

Yes. You can search and check progress across all projects you belong to.

Can I check the workload of a specific user?

Yes. You can see how many issues are assigned to a user. The Backlog AI assistant can also calculate estimated hours if enabled in the project settings.

Do guest users have access to the Backlog AI assistant?

No. Only admins and members have access. 

Can I exclude specific information from the output?

Yes. You can tell the Backlog AI assistant to ignore specific information but should always check the results yourself since the AI assistant can make mistakes.

Can the Backlog AI assistant create charts or PowerPoint files?

No. The AI assistant only creates text, which you can copy to tools like Cacoo or PowerPoint.

Can the Backlog AI assistant search inside Excel, PDF, or image files?

No. It can search file names, but it can't read the content inside attached files.

Are Backlog AI assistant actions tracked in the audit log?

Any updates or new issues created using the Backlog AI assistant are recorded in the audit log.  

Can I see how many credits each person used?

Can I export the AI assistant's answer as a CSV? 

No. Please copy the answer manually.

  1. Move your mouse to the left of the AI assistant’s response.
  2. Select the "Copy" icon.

Can I use the Backlog AI assistant with external services (API)?

 No.

Fees

Can I carry over unused credits to the next month?

 No. Credits reset on the 1st of every month.

How many credits does one request use? 

One question or prompt is usually about 10 credits. Credits used are based on various factors including the amount of data you send and receive, which AI model is used, and how often you use the service.
