How to add links to objects in Cacoo

Link objects (shapes, tables, text, etc.) in your diagram to a URL, sheet, or the shapes library.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to:

  • Add links
  • Edit links
  • Remove links

Add links

To add a link to an object, select the object to open the editor menu and then the link icon.

To link to a URL:

  • Select the “URL” tab.
  • Add the URL.
  • Select “Apply.”

To link to another sheet:

  • Select the “Sheet” tab.
  • Select “Unlink sheet.”
  • Select the sheet name from the dropdown menu. 
  • Select “Apply.”

To link to the shapes library:

  • Select the “Function” tab. 
  • Select “Unlink function.” 
  • Select “Open shapes library” from the dropdown menu. 
  • Select “Apply.”

To link to another object:

  • Select the object or group of objects you want to link to. They can be in the same or a different diagram.
  • Right-click or select the “...” icon from the editor menu.
  • Select “Copy object URL” from the menu.
  • Select the object where you want to add the link.
  • Select the “URL” tab.
  • Paste the URL.
  • Select “Apply.”

A link icon will appear in the bottom right of the object after the link is added.

Edit links

To edit a link:

  • Select the link icon in the bottom right of the object.
  • Select the edit icon.
  • Edit the link.
  • Select “Apply.”

Remove links

To remove a link:

  • Select the link icon in the bottom right of the object.
  • Select the trash can icon.
