You can add lines on their own or as a way to connect objects within your diagram.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to:
- Add lines
- Edit lines
- Connect lines to other objects

To add a line:
- Select the line icon from the tool menu.
- Select the type of line you want: Straight (default), curved, corner, elbow, or elbow rounded.

Edit lines
Selecting a line opens the editor menu with options to add a text label and edit the line style, start and end points, and stack order.
Nodes also appear any time you select a line. Click and drag a node to change the length or orientation of a line. For curved lines, the middle node adjusts the depth of the curve.
For elbow lines, click and drag the double arrow to change the position of the elbow.
Connect lines to other objects
Connect lines to objects (shapes and text boxes) by dragging the start or end point of the line to the object. Nodes will appear around the object where you can connect the line. If you don’t want to connect the line to a node, hold down the “Ctrl” key while dragging the line.
