Add custom field

There are 2 ways of adding a custom field.

Did you know?

Each project supports up to 100 custom fields.
  • Add from scratch

Click the Add Custom Field button to add a new custom field from scratch. On the registration page, fill up the details and click Submit button to save.
  • Copy custom fields from other projects
If you are creating a similar custom field that was created on other projects, you can copy the custom field settings from there.
To copy, from the custom field settings page, click the Copy Custom Fields from Other Projects.

A project selection menu will prompt. Select the project you wish to copy from and check the box for the available custom field list you want to copy. Select Copy Selected to copy.

    Useful tip!

Copied custom fields from the other projects will not copy the relations of the issue type. To tie the custom fields to the selected issue type, you will need to edit the “applicable issue type” from the specific custom field settings.

Edit custom fields

To edit custom fields, on the settings page, select the custom field that you wish to edit from the list, and it will redirect you to the editing page. Once complete the editing, click Submit to apply the changes.

Custom field registration settings

Listed below are the custom attribute settings that can be updated on the editing page.

  1. Basic settings

    - Custom field name: an attributes name that will reflect on the issue registration page.
    - Description: you can provide a short description for the custom field, which will reflect besides the custom field name.

  2. Custom field types
In this section, you can select the attribute format you want to create. There are 5 types of custom attributes – text, sentence, number, list, and date.
To learn more about each type, refer to the Custom field overview support article.

  3. Details

In this section, you can set the custom to be a mandatory field. If this is done, it requires input from the users when adding or editing the issue.

  4. Applicable issue types

In this section, you can make the custom field available on every issue type or bind them to a specific issue type. If binding to a specific issue type, the custom field will only be available when registering the specific issue type.
